WB7RBH wrote:The reason I started the BARC 160 Meter Net was to motivate local hams to consider alternate methods and modes for emergency communications. Many operators consider VHF repeaters as their only source of operations and during an emergency the repeaters may not be functional. 160 is a tough net to operate with antenna size, propagation, and atmospheric noise, but when it works it works very very well, specially for a regional communication frequency.
What I had also hoped would happen is a gathering of operators throughout the region at a specific time and place which has wonderfully transpired.
Thank you to all those who check in for making the BARC 160 Meter Net so much fun!
